IC - Event in Mannheim from September 5th to 9th, 2007
on occasion of the 40th anniversary of the IC of Germany
With this event, the IC of Germany intends to advance the executive committee's goal of lowering the average age of active IC members and to create a new attractive tournament, which hopefully will be continued in future.
The event will be played in the so called "french format", similar to the event of summer 2004 at Roland Garros, with singles and doubles in different categories and a point-system for each nation's ranking .
Date and venue :
September 5th to 9th, 2007. Matches to be played on September 6, 7 and 8.
Tennisclub Gruen-Weiss Mannheim, one of the leading clubs in Germany, and possibly a second nice and large club, both located in the so called "Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar" in the south-west area of Germany, close to the airport of Frankfurt (35 minutes).

Allocation of points :
Main draw of each single-and double-competition (8 players/pairs each):

Points will be allocated by each player as shown hereabove. There will be prices for all category winners. The winning IC-nation of the whole event will be the IC, whose players have totalled the greatest number of points.
In case of a tie, the winner will be the IC, whose players have won more points in the singles competitions. If still tied, the IC with the better result in the open men's category is the winner. If still tied, the open ladies category decides. If still tied, the better result of men's 35, then men's 40, then men's 45, then ladies' 40 decides.
Number of participating ICs
The IC of Germany accepts only 8 teams for the first playing of this competition. Combined teams will not be allowed.
Special rules :
Matches shall be the best of three sets with a ten point tie-break used in all cases as the third set.

Sponsors:
We intend to have a title-sponsor for the event with an adequate contribution of money and prices for the winning team.
We intend to find sponsors for all category-events with prices for the winners. In this case the category-events would be named after the sponsors (xyz....cup/trophy).
Hotels and transportation :
One or two nice 4-star-hotels with good prices are available (one is Steigenberger Mannheimer Hof, very close to downtown Mannheim)
We will have a shuttle-service from hotel to clubs and back.
Facilities:
All 6 players of each club shall be offered full hospitality on the basis of:
4 nights (bed and breakfast) in double-rooms
3 lunches in the clubs (thursday,friday, saturday)
Welcome party on wednesday evening
Closing dinner on saturday evening
Further event (probably a wine-village-evening)
We will offer the same packages for accompanying persons with a price of 440,- € (sharing a double-room) or 580,- € (stay in a single room).
Entries :
The entry-fee is 1.200,- € for each team (4 men and 2 ladies). Entries must be received on or before November 30, 2006.
50 percent of the entry-fee must be paid until January 15, 2007 as a non-refundable deposit.
The remainder of the entry-fee shall be paid by 31.3.2007, at which time team members should be submitted. If more than eight teams submit complete entries, the German IC shall select the eight teams, which appear to have the strongest players.
Any team submitting a complete entry and paying entry-fees shall receive a full refund, if it is not one of the eight accepted teams. Teams, which cannot be accepted, will have priority in the next event with this format.
